The Indiana State House is an opulent setting for a wedding in the heart of Indianapolis.
For many discerning couples who are planning a wedding in Indianapolis and beyond, the Indiana State House provides a lavish setting filled with grandeur. Created in Doric-style architecture, the state house boasts a wedding ceremony area surrounded by stone columns, and covered in marble floors. With views of the stained glass dome, and hanging chandeliers accenting the ornate balcony, the Indiana State House creates a one-of-a-kind wedding day experience for couples who wish to say I do in an elegant, awe-inspiring setting.

Chelse and Kyle planned a multi-venue wedding day and it all began with getting ready at the Bottleworks Hotel. Inside the bridal suite, Chelsea’s gown was fastened and her cathedral-length veil adorned her curly tendrils. As a bride, Chelsea had the most joyful, infectious smile. She was so vibrant and full of delight on the day of her wedding, she made the air electric, everywhere she went. With her vivid bridal bouquet in hand, Chelsea was off for two very important first looks. One with her father, and one with her husband-to-be.
Indiana State House Wedding
When laying eyes on his bride for the first time, Kyle played it cool. But it was easy to see the range of emotions, in anticipation of seeing Chelsea in her wedding dress, hidden just below the surface. For many couples, this moment of anticipation is often filled with so much joy, and excitement. Opposite of that; wedding day nerves are safely stowed away.
Having a first look with your beloved is a wonderful way to quietly wash away wedding day nerves while leaning into the joy and excitement of your day. That’s not to say that your walk down the aisle will be anything less than grand. In fact, many of my brides find that having a first look ahead of their ceremony allows them to be more present when they make their entrance. Focusing their attention on their beloved, while holding space for walking into a room full of their family and friends. Allowing them to hold on to the details of each moment during their ceremony and for the rest of the evening. With their guests filling the rows of chairs inside the Indiana State House, Chelsea and Kyle were married in a wedding ceremony filled with personal touches.
Their wedding day celebration continued with portraits at the Indiana War Memorial & Museum and a reception at Biltwell Event Center. To see all the sophisticated details of Chelsea & Kyle’s wedding day, scroll the photos below.
