Nicole and Michael’s Woodland Country Club Wedding was the perfect fall day, with just the right amount of glow.

I first met the bride and groom during their engagement session. It’s funny to think back on that cool summer evening. I’m immediately brought back to feeling in the air and the golden light that surrounded Nicole and Michael. Seeing them again on their wedding day, with an autumnal glow enveloping them, felt like such a parallel to their story, and their journey to be wed.

On their wedding day, Nicole and Michael decided to forgo a first look and instead met one another in a more traditional way. Down the aisle at their house of worship. Nicole was overcome with emotion as she descended the aisle toward her husband to be. Michael’s excitement was palpable, as he smiled emphatically at the vision of his beautiful bride. With their attending wedding party and friends and family filling the pews, Nicole and Michael exchanged sacred vows of marriage. Their ceremony was deeply heartfelt and not a moment passed when Nicole and Michael shifted their focus to anything other than the journey they were embarking on. Subsequently, as they were announced husband and wife, my heart lept at the idea of what the future might hold for them.

Prior to the reception, it was time to work with Nicole, Michael, and their wedding party on glowly afternoon portraits. Woodland Country Club in Carmel is a fantastic venue, but, as an Indianapolis wedding photographer, what fully has my heart about this venue are the grounds. Lush greenery and impeccably tended topiaries greet guests as they enter. Open-air, white-columned gazebos accent the backdrop while stone paths lead the way. I knew that here, I could put my artistry to work and capture the magic behind Nicole and Michael’s story.

Leaves crunched underfoot as we strolled through the grounds. The crisp air was filled with the gentle turn of the season and Nicole and Michael’s unmistakable joy filled the frame of my camera. With all of the elements coming together so seamlessly, it felt as if the day was created just for this celebration of love.

Creamy, muted shades, of elegantly styled florals accented the bridesmaid’s attire. Additionally, eucalyptus garland and romantic candlelight filled the tables of Nicole and Michael’s wedding reception at Woodland Country Club in Carmel. All in all, the evening was a lovely celebratory experience. Guests gave unforgettable toasts in honor of the bride and groom and watched on lovingly as they took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. As the night drew to a close, Nicole and Michael’s guests lined the exit of the country club, with sparklers in hand, to bid farewell to the bride and groom.
